Yalumba is a multi-generational, independent, family wine business. They’ve been developing their own sustainable viticulture program since the mid-1990s, so for every hectare under vine, they plant at least one hectare of native vegetation. They encourage healthy, biodiverse vineyards and use wild yeast for initial fermentations but will also utilize winery cultured yeasts in production, depending on the wine. Their winemaking has been 100% vegan since 2012. Yalumba also owns some of the oldest vineyards in Barossa, including 1889 bush-vine Grenache and 1908 Shiraz.
